Warped Tour and Jason Siska

Hey everyone! So yesterday, June 28, was Warped Tour. I absolutely LOVED IT!!! There were tons of bands there that are my favorites and I got to see them all. I even got to meet one of them....Cobra Starship. It was just a little "hi, how are you, youre awesome, please sign my ticket". And while we were standing in line there was another line to meet William Beckett and Adam Siska from The Academy Is. I already met them in September, so me and Sandee (my roomie) decided to meet Cobra Starship instead. Here is the ticket they signed:
Another awesome thing that happened was I got to meet Jason Siska from Survivor Macronesia: Fans vs Favorites. We were watching Cobra Starship play and then all of a sudden he comes up and stands right in front of me! I mean directly in front of me! I wasn't mad because I could see, but I leaned over to Sandee and said that he looked like Jason from Survivor, so she leaned over and said she thought he was, so I tapped on his back and he turned around and I asked "Are you Jason??" He replied "Yes" So I got all nervous and asked him to sign my map because I didn't have anything else to sign. Here is his autograph:

You are probably wonder why he was at Warped Tour, well he is the brother of Adam Siska who I mentioned earlier. They are one of my favorite bands also! I did do something extremely stupid though! When I got home I was looking at Jasons Myspace and he said that he was going to be flying to SLC to hang out with Todd from Survivor China (who btw won that season!) Todd is from Utah so it made sense. Anyway, I then realized that the guy that was with Jason was Todd!!!! I didn't watch his season, but I had seen his picture and I knew he was from Utah and that he won. I should have recognized him! I knew he looked familar, but I was just star struck with Jason I didn't think anything of it! I probably made him feel horrible!! Everyone I have told so far said not to worry, they won't remember....possible, but still I feel bad! Plus I would have wanted his autograph too! I wanted to get a pic with Jason but he got a phone call then had to leave. Oh well, at least I got to meet him and get his autograph.
One more thing that was really cool! There is another band called Forever The Sickest Kids and after they were done they were throwing their guitar pics and I got one of them!! It was Calebs and Sandee really likes him so I got a pic with it then gave it to her.

Anyway, I know that not all of you know who these people are, but I am huge fans of them and I had a great time! I just had to share it with you!

What is Cash??

So, I am just curious, what do you all think cash is? Do you consider a check to be cash? What about a debit card? I really would like to know. At my work we do a 5% discount if you pay cash. And I have had customers try to argue with me that a check is cash, that a debit card is cash, even that a credit card is cash!! No people...cash is CASH!! You know, the green paper stuff that no one carries around anymore. I personally think that they are just trying to argue with me to get the discount. So, what are your thoughts? What do you consider cash??

Pictures

I know that a lot of people have pictures on their blogs, I just haven't had time to put them up yet. Usually I have been blogging while it is slow at work and all of my pictures are at home and I swear I have had something going on everynight this week. I promise that someday I will get some up. In the meantime, be patient and keep on reading!

Luxury Limo Lunch

So, for those of you who think I win everything, you can add something else to that list LOL KBULL93, a country station if you didn't know, gives away a "luxury limo lunch" every Wednesday. What you have to do is e-mail or fax a letter stating why you deserve the luxury limo lunch, then if you win you and five others get to take a limo to Lonestar in Sugarhouse or Midvale and get a free lunch on them. Luckily there is only six people total at work, including me, so I don't have to choose between people. So a free limo ride and a free lunch is your prize. They use to do it to Rodigio Grill, but they switched it to Lonestar now. Anyway, I applied every week for a month and now I finally won!!! It's pretty exciting. I've been in limo's before and they aren't all they are made up to be, but still it's cool. I don't know when we go, since I have yet to hear from the guy I was told to e-mail, but as soon as I go I will let ya all know how it went :) YEAH!!!!!!

Scholarships and Adulthood

Well, last week was kind of hard for me. My boss was out of town on vacation, so it was basically just me doing everything (answering phones, helping customers, etc.) which I am use to because he isn't in the office everyday, but it just seemed harder this last week then usual. I also found out last week that I was rejected for a scholarship I applied for for the Spring 09 semester. It wouldn't have been so difficult to take the news if it wasn't for what happened last year.

This scholarship is provided by a group known as PEO. They are women who raise money and provide funds for women to futher their education. My mom and sister are in one of the chapters in Utah. This is a nationwide organization with different chapters in each state. Anyway, I had applied last summer and come Thanksgiving I still had not heard anything. So, this lady named Arleen, who is in the chapter and also worked with my mom, checked up on it. She found out that they thought they sent a letter to me rejecting me and I never got a letter. She asked why I got rejected and they said that it was because I wasn't going to school during the Summer when I had applied.....well DUH! Not very many people go to school during the Summer. Plus, I was applying for the Fall semester at the time. So Arleen chewed their butts off and they ended up sending me 1,000 when I had applied for 2,000. I was ok with it because every cent helps, right? They told Arleen that would have 1,000 for me next time but I had to apply. So I applied during this last Spring for the Spring 09 semester thinking I already had this money. Well, I was wrong. They rejected me this time because I already received money last year. They said they sent a letter to the Chapter president and she was suppose to contact me, well she didn't!

So two years in a row I got rejected. And the only reason why I got the 1,000 the first time was because Arleen chewed them out. My mom told me to apply again and I said no because they did this to me two years in a row I don't want them to do it to me again. Plus I have enough saved for Fall 08 semester, I just needed it for Spring 09 semester...which by the way is my last semester! I think that's another reason why I took it so hard, because it was for my last semester. So I decided I will just save from each paycheck and hopefully I will have enough by the time January rolls around.

I think it's interesting that the world wants you to have a college education, yet they charge so freakin much to do it! Welcome to adulthood!

You know what I don't understand, why don't people keep a back up of cartridges? I work for a company where we sell toner and ink and I would say about 80% of the time people are calling because they are completely out and don't have a backup. I just had that happen and of course it is a cartridge we only sell to this particular customer and not anyone else so we don't keep it in stock. Now they are upset because they can't print, but you know what, it's their own fault! I also don't understand why customers think they are our only customer and that they are on this customer throne and we should bow down to them. It just upsets me that I get treated like crap sometimes. I know I am not the only one that feels this way. And you know, if you are nice to the employee then maybe they will do something for you. For example, I was at Walmart last weekend to have some pictures printed and I did the one hour photo, so I went back like two hours later and their machine broke down so the pictures weren't done. I was nice about it and said that I could come back later. So I went back and they didn't charge me for them! I told them I wanted to pay but they refused because they said I was so nice about it. See...being nice does pay off! This week I have just been frustrated with customers! Hopefully next week is better and my next blog will be happier :)

Whoops

I was just reading through my last blog and noticed I wrote "Hopefully I forget that I created one" and it should have read "Hopefully I DONT forget that I created one"....just didn't want you to think that I didn't want to blog. That's all :)

I got sucked in!

Well, hello everyone! I got sucked into the blogging world! I thought it would be nice to do though since most of the time I want to vent and I think blogging will help me do that :) Keep checking back to see if I posted any new blogs. Hopefully I forget that I created one LOL.

Well those of you who aren't aware of what's going in on my life, let me catch ya up. I live in Layton with my roommate Sandee. I go to WSU. I got my AS in General Studies in May 06 and now I am working on my AS in Business Systems Technology. Hopefully I will be done in May 09. I just got denied a scholarship, so now I have to start saving to pay for the Spring 09 semester. I have worked as an office manager in Kaysville for about 4 1/2 years now. So, yeah that's about it. Keep checking back!
