Sorry...It's Been A While

Hey all! Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. I have been a little busy, so lets catch you up! Last week for the 24th of July holiday, I went up to Lake Lyman with my ward. We left on the 24th and got back on the 26th. We combined with another ward, but of course we didn't mingle. Everyone stayed with their own ward, except for the fireside. That fireside was amazing! We talked about how we should humble ourselves and not murmur like Laman and Lemuel. We also sang a few songs. The spirit was so strong, I will never forget that night. We also did Friday night, our last night there, so it was a great way to end the trip. The only problem with going up to Lake Lyman is that I never sleep! If you have never been up there, the bunks are made of wood. You are sleeping on a hard surface, so you need to take padding. Well, I took padding, but it wasn't an air mattress. I took two foams, which didn't do much good. It was better then nothing, but still I could feel the hardness. Then there are chipmunks and squirells everywhere! So, I get nervous that they are going to crawl all over me. Hence, the no sleep for three days! It was still nice to just get away.

My parents are gone to Virginia, so I am house sitting and dog sitting (since I don't live with them anymore). They left yesterday morning. And when I say morning, I mean morning. We left our house at 4AM! I set my alarm for 3:30, but of course I woke up at 3 and was worried I would sleep in so I stayed awake. Then when I got home I tried to go back to sleep, but of course I couldn't. I figured I would go to bed early last night and try to catch up on my sleep, considering I haven't really slept for the past 5 days. Haha..that was a joke! I didn't fall asleep til about 1AM. The main problem was my dog...he moved all over the place! He had to be cuddled right up against. I do love it when he cuddles with me, since he never does, but I couldn't sleep because of him. Hopefully I will get use to him being there since my parents don't get til Sunday at 11PM. I guess we will just have to see how the rest of the week goes.

Winnings and the Radio

On Friday, July 11, I won tickets to the Boys Like Girls concert out at Salt Air. The concert was on Saturday, July 12, it was really fun! The thing about winning, is that everyone thinks I win everything. Compared to how many times I try to win, and how many times I actually win, it's not a lot. So, me and my roommate Sandee were talking about this and I decided to name everything I had won, at least what I could remember. So here's the list in no particular order:

Rascall Flatts concert tickets
Boys Like Girls concert tickets
David Copperfield tickets
Utah County Fair tickets
Parade of Homes tickets
Luxury Limo Lunch
A key for an entertainment room (my key didn't work)

That's all that I could remember. See, it's not a lot, only seven things, and one of them I didn't win the prize. I've tried to win more, but sometimes I don't. The thing is that I at least try to win. You can't win if you don't try. And when I listen to the radio 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, I know what contests are going on and I pick up the phone and dial. Ü

Did that make sense?

So, as I was reading over my blogs, I noticed something....not all of my sentences make sense. I swear I read over my entries before I post them. I don't know if something happens when I post it and not all the words get posted, or what happens. I promise, I do know how to spell and how to write a complete sentence, but who wants to write grammatically correct in a blog? Oh well. So, my apologies if some of the words are misspelt or if the sentences don't make sense. One correction: I wrote in my last post that me and Nikki wore stripes on purpose, it should have been that we DIDN'T wear them on purpose. That's why we took the picture because we thought it was funny. Sorry that my entry today isn't exciting, keep checking back and the next one will be! :)

Pheonix and Matt from So You Think You Can Dance

So from July 3-6 I went to visit my friend Nikki in Phoenix. I had a lot of fun. Here is a pic of me and Nikki. We did wear strips on purpose, that's why we took the pictures.

I think one of the best thing that happened was meeting Matt Dorame from So You Think You Can Dance. We were shopping at Kohls and then Nikki gets a text pic of her mom with Matt. She immediately called her mom and I guess she was at Kinkos and so was he. She went to up to him and asked if he was Matt because she wasn't sure. She then told him that we were big fans and asked if he could wait for us and he did. We were booking it through Kohls, they probably thought we stole something. We finally made it to Kinkos and he waited for us. Here is the pic:

He was so nice. I knew he danced for Odyssey Dance in Utah and he was surprised I knew that. I also know that Thayne dances for them too. I only know this because Odyssey is FAVORITE dance company. He is originally from Glendale, AZ (which is in the Phoenix area). So he lives in Salt Lake during the season and then lives in Arizona during the off season. He said he was hoping to dance with them again, but he had to see what his future holds. He goes back in a few weeks to tape the finale of SYTYCD. He also said that Odyssey is going to Beijing for the Olympics. I thought that was pretty cool. Anyway, he was really nice. I didn't want him to get kicked off, but just think, if he didn't I wouldn't have met him because I don't live in Phoenix LOL Here are some more pics from the trip:

Me and Nikki playing guitar hero. It was my first time too!. Also Nikki and her boyfriend Matt. We forced him to wear the apron, but he took it off after the picture.

This is her do Buttercup. She really liked me. Also this is her fam. Minus her dad and add her boyfriend.

Jess had her baby, William Brittain Graeber. She had him on July 1. He has long legs. He is really cute.
The trip was really fun and I needed the break. Even though it got to 115, we were inside most the time so it didn't get bad. Her pool pump had broken, so we couldn't go swimming. We did swim for an hour at one of Matt's friends apartment pool. We also went and saw Hancock. I liked it, but I think I have to see it again to know how much I liked it. Overall, it was a great trip!

Luxury Limo Lunch

So we finally had a our Luxury Limo Lunch. Here is a pic of us inside of it:

We met the limo at the Target in Centerville because they wouldn't drive up to Kaysville. Then it took us to the Lonestar in Sugarhouse. It was overall a fun day. Plus, we got paid for 3 hours of work, even though we were in a limo! My boss decided to pay us, which I thought was really cool. Too bad it's over now.
